YAKO MIKA

Born in Kobe, YAKO MIKA began her career in 1984 and is currently based between Kobe and Tokyo. Centered on techno and house, she leads the scene through a multifaceted approach that crosses experimental music, ambient, tribal and beyond as a DJ, modular synth performer, sound artist, producer and party organizer.

With experience performing in clubs, galleries, outdoor spaces and many other locations, she is known for designing sound in response to each space, creating soundscapes that combine delicacy and movement. Her style moves freely through experimental music, techno, downtempo, tribal, ambient, house and disco, carefully reading the atmosphere of the floor and weaving a flow that has earned the support of many listeners.

She currently hosts RESONANCE, a party that fuses Japanese culture with techno, house and modular synth sounds against the background of Kobe’s natural and urban landscapes. The project continues to evolve as a platform that bridges art and club culture while exploring the possibilities of spaces beyond the club.

Through modular synth production, she reconstructs the boundaries of format and genre, exploring uncharted sonic worlds between club music and art, and continuing to create new forms of resonance.
