DJ MIKU — DJ / Producer

Rooted in 1980s New Wave, Electro, Techno, HipHop and Disco, DJ MIKU built his career as a resident DJ at six clubs and discos in Tokyo. In the early 1990s he emerged from the Tokyo underground scene as a key resident of the warehouse party KEY-ENERGY, helping shape a new club culture filled with experimentation and raw energy.

In 1996 he founded NewStage Records, later releasing music by artists from Japan and abroad through several independent labels including NS-COM. Through his long-running residency at CYCLONE at Shibuya WOMB and numerous festival appearances, he has become an important figure in Japan’s electronic music scene.

In 2012, he launched the outdoor festival GLOBAL ARK and founded GLOBAL ARK RECORDING to document and share the music born from the event. Through curation and international networking, he continues to connect the Japanese scene with artists around the world.

His DJ sets go beyond simple mixing, aiming to build narratives across time. Click-like textures, deep low-end and delicate melodies are arranged with precision, while edits, original remixes, rare tracks and live parameter control create a balance of improvisation and structure. From peak-time club sets to outdoor listening sessions, his sound remains unmistakably his own.

He continues to perform at clubs, festivals and art spaces in Japan and abroad, while also running labels, producing compilations and supporting younger artists.
